Mukono Easter Mission Launch

Mukono Easter Mission Launch
As we gather in preparation for the official launch of the Mukono Easter Mission, we reflect on the significance of Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday is a day that marks Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. This moment reminds us of His journey toward the cross, driven by love and sacrifice. In that same spirit, we embark on this mission week with the goal of spreading the Good News throughout Mukono.
As we reflect on this holy day, we also look ahead to the official launch of the mission week tomorrow 14th April. The week is set to include door-to-door evangelism, corporate ministry outreach, hospital visits, screenings of the Jesus Film, and many more. Each of these activities is intentionally designed to reach souls, bring healing, and proclaim the message of hope found in the resurrection of Christ.
Jesus’ March

In preparation for the Mukono Easter Mission, schools and churches around Mukono came together to proclaim the name of Jesus. By 10:00 a.m., both teams had assembled at St James Nassuuti Church of Uganda and St Luke’s Church Seeta as their starting points, prepared and energized for the outreach. The event featured two band teams marching across Mukono towns, boldly declaring Christ’s love and victory.
Despite a heavy downpour that drenched the town and flooded the streets with muddy waters, the participant’s spirits remained undeterred. Participants pressed on, singing, dancing while waving branches, and declaring the name of Jesus which is a living testament to their devotion and the power of the Gospel.

Strategic stopovers were made in local markets, fuel stations, and other public areas.
As the march progressed, several strategic stopovers were made in local markets, fuel stations, and other public areas. People who had paused to shield themselves from the rain, including market vendors and passengers, found themselves drawn into moments of ministry. Many listened attentively as the message of Christ was shared boldly through music and prayer.
Along the way, a particularly moving moment unfolded when a peanut snacks vendor, visibly stirred by the message and worship, approached the team and asked to be prayed for. With sincerity in his eyes, he expressed a desire to know Jesus and experience the peace and love being shared around him. Right there on the roadside, surrounded by worship and the sound of rain, Rev. Eric Mpuuga prayed with him, and led him in a prayer of commitment to Christ.
Rev. Capt. Geofrey Mutumba, speaking passionately through the booming speakers, urged the crowd to reflect on the love and suffering of Christ during this Easter season. His message echoed through the streets calling people to repentance, renewal, and a deeper embrace of the sacrificial love of Jesus.
The streets of Mukono were not just walked upon; they were claimed for Christ.
Boda Boda Outreach
The Boda boda Sports Evangelism initiative continues to gain momentum. The winning teams, who have been competing in various matches, will face off once again on Tuesday next week. The champion will walk away with a trophy and a cash prize worth 500,000/-.

This initiative reached 200 people yesterday despite the heavy rains that kept many from attending the match. Although the weather created challenges, the event still provided an opportunity to minister to the local community. Through the efforts of the participating teams, the Gospel was shared with those who gathered.
Cumulatively, the mission has reached an astonishing 11,019 people with the Gospel, and 7,720 of them have made the life-changing decision to accept Christ.
Prayer Request
Pray for unity, humility, and forgiveness among believers so that the Church reflects Christ’s love to the world.
Lift up families torn apart by strife, miscommunication, and betrayal. Pray for divine reconciliation, understanding, and renewed love among family members.
Pray that hearts hardened by past hurts will be softened by the love of Christ.
