30 Farmers Visit Wole Mixed Farm
30 farmers from Arivu and Terego were empowered with a visit to Wole Mixed Farm in Maracha District, where they gained invaluable knowledge and skills in agricultural entrepreneurship. The objective was to equip farmers with knowledge about Agriculture as a business through modern farming.
Inspired by Mr. Wole’s remarkable success story, who transformed a small plot of poor soil into a thriving farm with diverse enterprises, the farmers were challenged to rethink their approach to farming.
The Program Manager from Holland Greentech a company partnering with AEE-U, provided expert insights into the operation of greenhouses and the business side of agriculture. He also highlighted the key areas farming such as nursery bed management, production, marketing, and sales.
As a direct result of this training, the farmers identified lucrative enterprise opportunities that leveraged local resources, including backyard gardening, piggery, poultry, and goat and sheep production, paving the way for a more sustainable and profitable farming future.
